From the HR director’s chair to sustainability.
After years as a Human Resources Director, Trish recognized firsthand how the physical environments in which people work influence their health, well-being, productivity, and ultimately, organizational performance. Following a move to a new province, she shifted her professional focus to wellness and sustainable building design, where she quickly recognized the powerful connection between people, the built environment, and business success.
Her experience across both disciplines revealed a critical gap: even the strongest sustainability strategies can fall short when the people responsible for implementing them are not considered from the outset. This understanding became the foundation of Matthews Design Group (MDG), bringing together people strategy, organizational change, and sustainability to create healthier environments and stronger, more resilient organizations.
