Who we are

Matthews Design Group (“MDG”, “we”, “us”) is a consulting firm based in Kelowna, British Columbia. Green Wise Academy™ is MDG’s education and training division, and this notice covers both.

We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us, and only what we need:

• When you contact us or book a call: your name, email, phone number if you give it, your organization and what you’d like to discuss.
• When you complete the readiness assessment: your contact details and your answers about your building, team, energy use and plans.
• When you express interest in joining our team: your name, email, area of expertise, LinkedIn profile or website, and what you tell us about your experience.
• When you visit the site: basic technical information, such as pages visited and browser type, collected through cookies or analytics tools. This doesn’t identify you by name.

How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and follow up on the conversation you started.
• To review your readiness assessment and share feedback on where your project stands.
• To consider you for consulting opportunities, if you’ve expressed interest in working with us.
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

We won’t use your information for any other purpose without asking you first, unless the law requires or permits it.

What we never do

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We don’t share it with other organizations for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run our business, such as email, website hosting, scheduling and form tools. They may handle your information on our behalf, only for the purposes above, and must protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it to us, or as long as the law requires, and then securely delete it. Information about active clients is kept for the length of the engagement and the period our professional and tax records require.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including password-protected accounts, limited access to only those who need it, and secure, reputable service providers. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we take care to keep your information safe.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• See the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that’s inaccurate or out of date.
• Withdraw your consent to our use of your information.
• Delete your information, unless we’re required to keep it.

Just email us. We’ll respond within 30 days.
