MDG is certified to support organizations that are committed to 3rd party verification of building and occupant health standards.

Well™ Certification

The WELL™ Building Standard revolutionizes the way people think about buildings.

The WELL™ certification explores how design, operations and behaviors within the places where we live, work, learn and play can be optimized to advance human health and well-being. Covering ten core concepts of health and hundreds of features, WELL™ is a flexible building standard and represents the future of design.

The WELL™ Building Standard is the newest performance-based building certification available for new construction and existing operations around the world. The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) gathered a team of doctors, scientists, and practitioners to develop and peer review the standard’s performance benchmarks. The WELL™ Building Standard v1.0 was made public in Fall 2014 and the first building was certified in Spring 2016.

FitWel™ Certification

FitWel™ covers it. Health and wellness is becoming increasingly more important to people and is one of the next major trends in green building.

Fitwel™ is a building rating system for commercial interiors and both multi-tenant and single-tenant existing buildings that provides guidelines on how to design and operate healthier buildings. Created as a joint initiative led by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) together with the General Services Administration (GSA), Fitwel™ provides guidelines for designing, constructing, and operating healthier buildings.  The Center for Active Design (CfAD) is the operator of Fitwel™ and responsible for the third-party certification.

Fitwel™ champions are companies that have committed to using Fitwel™ at a portfolio scale. Fitwel™ streamlines the process for efficient application throughout a portfolio, in order to integrate health-promoting design and operations strategies across multiple projects and a range of typologies.

LEED™ Certification

LEED™ is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Available for virtually all building types, LEED™ provides a checklist for healthy and efficient green projects. LEED™ certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership within all green design standards.

Canada is one of the top territories in the world for LEED™ (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. LEED™ is an international symbol of sustainability excellence and green building leadership with a green approach that helps virtually all building types lower carbon emissions, conserve resources, and reduce operating costs by prioritizing sustainable practices.

LEED™ benchmarks and celebrates a projects sustainability goals and achievements, utilizing a framework that is built on decades of expertise; empowering people to choose green options that align with their project’s vision and needs.

Adopted globally around the world, the LEED™ certification has become a benchmark for the design and construction of green buildings and homes. The LEED™ seal is a badge of honor for the organizations that receive it.

BREEAM™ Certification

BREEAM™ measures the sustainability performance of buildings, ensuring that projects meet sustainability goals and continue to perform optimally over time.

BREEAM™ assessments use recognized measures of performance, which are set against established benchmarks, to evaluate a building’s specification, design, construction and use.

BREEAM™ categories focuses on the most influential factors, including reduced carbon emissions, low impact design, adaptation to climate change, ecological value and biodiversity protection. BREEAM™ integrates sustainability measures at the earliest possible stage of a project using the BREEAM framework enables reduced life cycle costs and increases in asset value, building user experience and health, corporate image and CSR requirements, and risk mitigation.

RESET™ Certification

RESET™ provides Data Standards and Tools for healthy and sustainably built environments.

RESET™ targets the environmental health of occupants, starting with people and indoor air quality.

RESET™ Air is the world’s first sensor-based and performance-driven, indoor air quality building standard and certification program. It requires continuous monitoring so that data can be communicated to project occupants through mobile devices, or other visual displays. RESET™ Air rethinks and simplifies IAQ project certification by setting standards for documenting, communicating and certifying indoor air quality using continuous monitoring.

LIVING BUILDING CHALLENGE™ Certification

LIVING BUILDING CHALLENGE™ certification strives to create a society that is socially just, culturally rich, and ecologically restorative.

LIVING BUILDING CHALLENGE™ certification is premised on the belief that providing a compelling vision for the future is a fundamental requirement for reconciling humanity’s relationship with the natural world. LBC envisions a future where our planet and humanity are thriving, and we work towards that future every day. We refer to this future as the Living Future.

LIVING BUILDING CHALLENGE™ certification recognizes that people can live in harmony with our beautiful planet’s diverse natural systems, as well as with each other. Around the world, our community of architects, engineers, manufacturers, builders, business leaders, and other stakeholders are creating regenerative buildings and products to restore the health and resilience of economies, cultures, and people.

ACTIVESCORE™ Certification

ACTIVESCORE™ certifications help building owners enhance their active travel offering. Using a scientific system developed with industry experts, the ACTIVESCORE™ certification future-proofs assets and sets benchmarks for active travel standards.

ACTIVESCORE™ stands out as it is the only globally-recognized standard specific to Active Travel and directly impacts tenants’ experience. The certification can be an be applied to both new and existing buildings, helping boost your organization’s ESG (environmental, social, and governance).

The application of ACTIVESCORE™ recommendations are tailored to reflect and exceed local planning regulations and infrastructure requirements, helping buildings earn credits for other green certifications such as WELL™, BREEAM™, LEED™, and GRESB™.

In most cases, properly designed active travel facilities/ buildings support access to sustainability-linked loans, reduce interest rates, and public funding.
